More On Malakai Black Potentially Leaving AEW

Just what is going on with Malakai Black's situation backstage in AEW?

Fightful Select's in-company sources at AEW tell them rumours that Malakai Black will soon leave the company are "completely false".

There had been lots of scuttlebutt online about Black becoming disenfranchised with life in Tony Khan's league and seeking his release. Fightful's sources did tell them that Malakai has been far from happy with the way things have been going for his character on-air, but it seems everyone is determined to work it out.

Meanwhile, PWInsider Elite is also reporting that Black is currently going through a personal situation that might necessitate an extended break from pro wrestling. Nobody could be crystal clear on exactly what's going on (that's Malakai's business, to be honest), but it's interesting nonetheless and definitely worth bringing up.

This caveat could squash rumours that Black plans to leave AEW and rejoin WWE. Of course, that'd also be legally challenging - Malakai is only one year into a five-year deal with Khan's group, and is set to appear on this weekend's All Out pay-per-view in Chicago.

There, he'll team with House Of Black pals Brody King and Buddy Matthews to face Miro, Darby Allin and Sting in six-man tag action.
