Motor City Machine Guns Win WWE Tag-Team Titles
Coming to WWE and landing on SmackDown looks like a REALLY good move for these ex-TNA stars.
Motor City Machine Guns duo Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley won WWE's Tag-Team Titles just three matches into their company careers. The ex-TNA pair beat The Bloodline's Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa mere minutes after pinning DIY's Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa to become the new number one contenders on this week's SmackDown.
This was part of a dizzying final segment on Friday's episode that also included Jimmy and Jey Uso hugging in-ring. The OG Bloodline is back together then, and a brand new team to WWE circles has gold to shout about. This is a big moment for Sabin and Shelley - some wrestling fans were wondering if they'd ever get a fair crack at the biggest company in the industry.
Triple H brought MCMG in, and now he's put titles around their waists.
This moment caps off a memorable debut run for the Machine Guns. Sabin and Shelley were on independent cards in August, and now they're on top of SmackDown's tag pile. It'd be fantastic for the longstanding teammates if they were able to ride this momentum all the way to WrestleMania 41.
For now, they'll just be pinching themselves.
