Multi-Time AEW Champion Makes Surprise Return At ROH Tapings

This big-name AEW Original made their shock return at the latest set of ROH TV tapings.

Having been entirely absent since February, Sammy Guevara made his return to TV at last night's Ring of Honor tapings.

Via PWInsider, the Spanish God made the save for Dustin Rhodes after the Natural was attacked by the Dark Order. The outlet also notes that Guevara was due to wrestle at another set of tapings later in the day, although there are no details just yet on how things played out in that regard.

For those wondering where Sammy has been, he was suspended in February due to a "protocol issue" in a Rampage match that left Jeff Hardy with a broken nose and a concussion. Guevara did wrestle one more match before that suspension kicked in - a Collision loss against Powerhouse Hobbs - but it's been over five months since the three-time TNT Champion has been seen on AEW programming.

It remains to be seen whether Sammy Guevara will now be a regular part of the ROH brand moving forward, or whether this is just a brief ROH run before fully returning to the AEW fold.

Of course, Sammy is an AEW Original, debuting for the company at the inaugural Double or Nothing back in 2019, where he lost to Kip Sabian.
