MVP Pays Tribute To Tragic Ex-WWE Star On Raw

MVP showed some support for fallen ex-WWE star Shad Gaspard on last night's episode of Raw.

During a backstage promo with Charly Caruso, he could be seen wearing a Shad t-shirt as a mini-tribute to his tragic former peer. That was a nice touch, and it earned Porter some plaudits on social media for this humble, dignified show of respect.

MVP busily put over Bobby Lashley's chances of beating Drew McIntyre for the WWE Title at Backlash this Sunday, but didn't acknowledge the shirt. Instead, he quietly honoured Shad's memory and focused on the business at hand.

Gaspard was tragically killed on 17 May when he and other swimmers were caught in a powerful rip current in Venice Beach, California. He heroically made sure lifeguards saved his young son first, but disappeared underwater. Shad's body was found three days later on 20 May when it washed ashore.

MVP and others were quick to pay tribute to Shad on social media, but Porter obviously wanted to show some support on TV too. His t-shirt tribute was one of those 'blink and you'll miss it' moments.
