Mystery Attacker Revealed On WWE NXT

Who was hiding behind NXT's Scream mask?

Indi Hartwell Candice LeRae

Indi Hartwell was revealed as NXT's Scream last night, unmasking herself after aiding Candice LeRae in a brawl with Shotzi Blackheart and Toni Storm.

The set piece played out after LeRae had defeated Storm with her feet on the ropes. Out came the mystery attacker before Blackheart intervened, only for the green-haired babyface to eat a beatdown of her own. The heels stood tall to close the segment.

The Scream-clad assailant first made an impact at Halloween Havoc, costing Damian Priest the NXT North American Championship in a match with Johnny Gargano. They then tried to interfere in LeRae's Women's Title bout with Io Shirai before Blackheart neutralised them. With Candice destroying Shotzi's toy tank last week, it looks like NXT is heading towards a tag team match with these four and Storm, who said her bout with LeRae would be payback for the tank.

Hartwell always appeared to be the likeliest candidate for the Scream reveal, given her alliance with LeRae and Gargano. The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer reported this in October, though Hartwell actually had to be pulled from the Halloween Havoc show following the COVID-19 outbreak at the WWE Performance Center, with a substitute playing the masked role.
