Naomi Vs. Alexa Bliss Signed For WWE Elimination Chamber 2017
Smackdown Women's Championship to be decided.
As per general manager Daniel Bryan's declaration, Smackdown Women's Champion Alexa Bliss will defend her title against Naomi at the Elimination Chamber PPV.
Naomi has been very successful since returning from injury, scoring a pair of pinfalls over the champion. After two months on the shelf, she came back on last week's episode for a match with Natalya. When the bout had to be canceled after Natalya was attacked by Nikki Bella, Naomi made an open challenge. Bliss answered, but she wasn't looking for a fight - she just came out to insult Naomi.
That led to a six-woman tag team match on the Royal Rumble kickoff show pitting Bliss, Mickie James, and Natalya against Naomi, Bella, and Becky Lynch. Naomi got her first measure of revenge on Bliss in that contest, scoring the pinfall on the Smackdown Women's Champion to win the bout for her team.
On this week's Smackdown, Bliss and Naomi were across the ring from each other once again - this time, in a standard tag match that saw Naomi and Becky take on Bliss and James. History repeated itself when Naomi pinned Bliss after a split-legged moonsault, earning the title bout all over again.
