A new face will challenge Bobby Lashley for his title next week on Raw.

Ciampa is your new number one contender for the WWE United States Championship after winning a pair of matches over some experienced competitors on last night's Raw.

The former NXT Champion's main roster run has been a bit of a question mark so far, as he spent the first couple of months doing run-ins, having his interviews cut off, and finally being paired with the Miz in a true Odd Couple.

But on Monday night, Ciampa won a triple threat against Chad Gable and Dolph Ziggler, pinning Gable with a Fairy Tale Ending after a spirited match. He then battled AJ Styles, who had defeated Mustafa Ali and Miz in an earlier triple threat.

Ciampa prevailed against Styles with a little help from Miz, who delayed AJ getting back in the ring, which enabled Ciampa to nail the Phenomenal One with a Fairy Tale Ending to earn his shot at Bobby Lashley's US title next week on Raw.

Considering how Ciampa was being booked two weeks ago to today, you've got to imagine this in huge part due to Triple H being in charge, as Ciampa was a big part of NXT when The Game ran the black-and-gold brand. If that's the case, it could bode well for Ciampa and other former NXT projects of Triple H's.
