New All-Female Faction Forms On WWE SmackDown
It looks like this WWE alliance will be permanent after events on SummerSlam's go home show.
Blair Davenport helped Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn retain their Women's Tag-Team Titles vs. Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair on Friday's go home edition of SmackDown before SummerSlam. It now looks like the trio will become a permanent addition to the blue brand scene going forwards.
The referee called for a DQ after Davenport's interference.
Post-match, the Brits celebrated. Then, during an exclusive promo shot for WWE's socials/YouTube, Byron Saxton caught up with Alba, Isla and Blair to ask what was going on. That's when Davenport discussed her history with the Scottish champs; history that stretches all the way back to the UK independent scene.
It seems WWE will lean on that in coming weeks and explore the connection all three women forged before reaching the big time. It's also interesting to note that they're not the only all-female faction running amok in the company.
Damage CTRL are still around, and Sonya Deville recently pieced together a trio with Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark over on Raw. Creative is suspiciously lining up female factions. Roll on Survivor Series, eh? That remains to be seen, but it's a fun thought.
