New Contenders For WWE Women's Tag Titles Determined On Raw

Who endured a five-team tag turmoil bout to earn a shot at 'prestigious' tag titles?

Despite just regaining the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship at Money in the Bank Saturday, Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez have new #1 contenders for their titles.

Sonya Deville & Chelsea Green won a five-team tag team turmoil match Monday night to earn a shot at the women's tag champs, running the gauntlet and beating all four opposing teams. The duo defeated Candice LeRae and a debuting Indi Hartwell, Nikki Cross & Emma, Tegan Nox & Dana Brooke, and Kayden Carter & Katana Chance. Only Carter & Chance are regular tag wrestlers on the main roster.

The decision to have the heels run the table and beat four teams fairly cleanly overall was an odd one, considering Green & Deville have lost most of their matches as a tag team. However, they were one of only two regular tag teams on the Raw roster right now, so you can see the logic in that move.

What was somewhat unforgivable was having Hartwell's Raw debut be a completely forgettable tag turmoil contest where her team was eliminated just seconds in the match. Emma got some rare TV time and fell victim to Cross' crazy obsession with LeRae. And Chance & Carter hung in there, but were beaten by a duo that had beaten three other teams by that point.

There is no indication of when this tag title match will take place, but it seems unlikely they'd stretch this on out until SummerSlam. Still, stranger things have happened.
