New Details On Big Swole Leaving AEW
The latest backstage update on Big Swole's surprising AEW departure.
Big Swole hit Twitter earlier this week, letting fans know that after conversations with Tony Khan and other All Elite Wrestling higher-ups, the two sides had agreed not to renew her expiring contract, effectively making her a free agent.
Fightful Select have since issued a new report offering further details on Swole's departure from the promotion. It is stated that her contract wasn't ended early, as had been speculated online, and that it was simply allowed to run out when it was due to expire at the end of November.
Swole hadn't been at many AEW television tapings recently, having not wrestled since September. She has spoken openly on her battles with Crohn's Disease in the past. Said health issues have unfortunately held up her wrestling career over the years, forcing her to take time away from the ring.
Fightful note that there is no extensive heat relating to Swole's AEW departure and no reason as to why things may have concluded on bad terms.
Swole, 32, had been signed to AEW since December 2019. She noted in her departure statement that leaving was a "hard decision but a needed one."
