Damian Priest was only cleared to compete at WWE WrestleMania 37 at the last minute.

Per a new report from The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, the former NXT North American Champion had been suffering from a back injury prior to the Showcase of the Immortals, to the extent that officials didn't know whether or not he'd be able to wrestle.

This could be why WWE initially booked Bad Bunny to wrestle The Miz one-on-one. Meltzer noted that the company switched it to Bunny and Priest vs. Miz and John Morrison when Damian was cleared.

That Bunny worked such a large portion of the match, despite his complete lack of experience, was reportedly a result of Priest's physical condition. Damian didn't enter the bout until the end, but proved the difference-maker as he and Bunny defeated Miz and Morrison.

If last night's Raw is anything to go by, it doesn't look like Priest will be taking time off anytime soon. He ended up wrestling Miz and Morrison in a two-on-one handicap bout on the show, though it only lasted around six minutes, with the heels scoring a sneaky victory.
