Isaiah 'Swerve' Scott is your new NXT North American Champion, having defeated Bronson Reed to take the belt on last night's episode.

WWE hadn't announced the match in advance, opting instead to book it on the show, with Swerve and his Hit Row stablemates interrupting Reed's interview segment. The now-former North American Champion agreed to the challenge - and the main event was set.

Heavy Hit Row interference led to the finish, with Top Dolla, B-Fab, and Ashante 'Thee' Adonis all getting involved. Though Reed took care of Top Dolla and Adonis on the outside, this was enough of a distraction for 'Swerve' to catch him while he was re-entering the ring, put him down, and finally pin him following the 450 Splash.

This is Scott's first title reign in WWE. The former Shane Strickland has been with the promotion since April 2019 and formed Hit Row in May, introducing the new group at the end of his feud with underdog Leon Ruff.

Reed's reign as North American Champion lasted just 42 days. Winning the belt from Johnny Gargano on NXT's 18 May episode, he successfully defended it in a trios match alongside Tag Team Champions MSK at TakeOver: In Your House on 13 June before last night's loss.
