New Stipulation Match Added To WWE Extreme Rules 2022

This latest Extreme Rules addition promises to be a bruising affair.

With the card for next month's WWE Extreme Rules event already shaping up rather nicely, a new six-man bout has today been announced for the upcoming Premium Live Event.

To take place under Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook rules, Extreme Rules will see the Brawling Brutes doing battle with Imperium.

Of course, these two groups have been butting heads across the past few months, with the Brutes' Sheamus and Imperium's Gunther putting on an utter instant classic at Clash at the Castle earlier this month. There in Cardiff, Gunther successfully retained his Intercontinental Title against the Celtic Warrior in a genuine Match of the Year contender.

There has only been one Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook offering previously in WWE history, with that actually coming in the build to Clash at the Castle. With a shot at Roman Reigns' Undisputed WWE Universal Title on the line for Clash, Drew McIntyre defeated Sheamus is a nice 'n' snug hard hitting war.

For those who may have missed that McIntyre vs. Sheamus encounter, a Donnybrook is basically another term for a No Holds Barred encounter - with no disqualifications in place, no rules to particularly abide to, and no count-outs.

Emanating from Philadelphia's Wells Fargo Center on Saturday 8 October, the rest of the Extreme Rules line-up currently reads as follows:

- SmackDown Women's Champion Liv Morgan vs. Ronda Rousey in an Extreme Rules match

- Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair vs. Bayley in a Ladder match

- Matt Riddle vs. Seth Rollins in a Fight Pit match

- Edge vs. Finn Balor in an I Quit match

- Drew McIntyre vs. Karrion Kross in a Strap match
