Apollo Crews is your new WWE United States Champion, having defeated Andrade to win the midcard strap on last night's episode of Raw.

A back-and-forth match built off weeks of tension (highlighted by Andrade "injuring" Apollo prior to Money in the Bank 2020, preventing his participation in the titular ladder match) played out briskly, eventually concluding with Crews seizing control towards the end and ultimately putting 'El Idolo' away with a standing Shooting Star Press.

Charly Caruso interview Apollo after the match. A fine babyface promo followed, with Crews elated to have proved his critics wrong and justified his self-belief. Meanwhile, Andrade threw a temper tantrum somewhere backstage.

This was Crews' first title win of any kind in WWE, having been with the promotion since 2014. His inconsistent push has wavered at several times throughout his run with the company, particularly on the main roster, but he has enjoyed a significant upswing in 2020, and now finds himself in a career-high after scoring the United States Title.

Andrade had been champion for 151 days prior to last night, having taken the belt from Rey Mysterio on a house show back in December 2019.
