Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax are your new WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, having defeated Asuka and Charlotte Flair on the Royal Rumble 2021 Kickoff Show.

Ric Flair and Lacey Evans were involved in the finish. 'The Nature Boy's' music hit late in the match, distracting Charlotte, which allowed Baszler to almost steal the victory and the belts with a roll-up. 'The Queen' then left the ring to give chase to Evans but couldn't keep her away from the match, as Lacey ended up breaking up a Figure Eight, then nailing her rival with a brass knuckle-assisted Woman's Right as Ric distracted the referee, knocking Charlotte down for the count.

The pinfall was elementary after this. Still, Jax hit her leg drop before scoring the pinfall, ensuring she and Baszler left with the gold.

Baszler and Jax had previously lost the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles to Charlotte and Asuka at TLC 2020, where Flair was 'The Empress of Tomorrow's' mystery partner. Flair and Asuka's reign lasted a total of 42 days and saw one successful defence, against Bayley and Carmella and Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks on the 25 December episode of SmackDown.
