News On Last-Minute Changes WWE Made To SmackDown's Script

A few select segments didn't make air on Friday's "Super" SmackDown at MSG.

WWE made two notable changes to the SmackDown script right before going live on FOX.

Fightful Select reported that Naomi's planned segment with Sonya Deville was scrapped from the show. Previously, the comeback queen had been begging Sonya for news on what she'd be doing since being drafted to SmackDown - that, in storyline, wasn't a trade the authority figure had signed off on.

Who knows what'll happen after WWE binned some follow-up on this week's show. Being honest, the angle hasn't been doing much to make Naomi look like a hot property or must-see star. If Deville is so uninterested, then why should fans view the former Women's Champion as a big deal?

The site also claimed that Carmella and Zelina Vega vs. Liv Morgan and an unnamed partner was supposed to happen inside Madison Square Garden too. That was nixed from the card due to concerns about time, which sucks for all four women (there's no word on who the fourth wrestler might've been).

Vega had been a huge part of WWE's pre-show content about 9/11, and had been talking about what it'd be like to finally wrestle at MSG.
