Regardless of how some may question the current WWE product seen on a weekly basis, there's no disputing that WWE delivers time and time again with their documentaries and specials. And so, many will be left disappointed to hear how today's episode of WWE Icons has been delayed.

With Lex Luger the focus of this latest WWE Icons effort, the episode has been pulled and set aside for a to-be-confirmed new date. As per Wrestling Inc., the reason for this is that WWE simply wanted a stronger lead-in for this episode.

Purely speculation, but WWE could opt to run this next WWE Icons episode next Sunday to cash in on those viewers checking out the WWE Network for the company's Money in the Bank PPV. That said, that day already has the premiere of Kevin Nash sitting down to chew the fat with Steve Austin on Broken Skull Sessions.

As for WWE Icons, we've already seen episodes spotlighting Yokozuna, Beth Phoenix and Rob Van Dam. Still to come, there's a hotly-anticipated Davey Boy Smith episode in addition to the aforementioned Luger offering.

Luger spent two years with the then-WWF between 1993 and 1995, changing from nefarious Narcissist to flag-wearing All-American hero during that time. While Lex did (co-)win the '94 Royal Rumble, the Total Package had far more success in World Championship Wrestling - becoming a two-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, a five-time WCW United States Champion, a two-time WCW TV Champion, a three-time WCW Tag Team Champion, and winning the 1988 Crocket Cup with Sting.
