Nia Jax has been added to WWE’s internal “inactive list” and is currently not cleared for action.

This is according to WrestleVotes, who noted on Backstage Pass that Jax’s absence from WWE television is due to her "not being medically cleared". The report also noted that while Jax had been expected to return a couple of weeks ago, there’s no clear update on why that hasn’t happened or when she might be back. They "don’t know and won’t speculate about why that hasn’t happened.”

Jax' last match was the Elimination Chamber 2025 tag team contest alongside Candice LeRae against hometown returnee Trish Stratus and WWE Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton. Stratton won the gold from Jax after an uneasy alliance centred around the former's Money In The Bank contract.

The feud was largely well received, which was in keeping with Nia Jax's post-2023 run in general. Booked as a dominant force in the women’s division but with some wit and dry heelish humour, Jax dethroning Bayley at SummerSlam 2024 didn't scan as a shock, and there were some choice in-ring offerings during her time with the title. It's reshape Jax’s reputation in WWE in general, with her first tenure often criticised for in-ring sloppiness and poor character choices, her second stint has subsequently been more refined.

Injury is at least an explanation for how she's currently fallen out of WrestleMania plans - Jax would be welcome filling some time on the overlong and underwritten three hour SmackDowns at present.
