Nia Jax Slyly Buries AEW

Nia Jax has taken a shot at AEW when addressing Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler in a new interview.

Speaking with Q1057, the WWE star credited Baszler, her former tag team partner, with "taking out" Rousey and sending her to a "lesser company."

“She is a great expert at her Judo moves, she is a former UFC fighter. She did take out Ronda Rousey. Ronda Rousey just got sent to a whole other company lesser than us. Shayna does get credit for that. Being so close to her and knowing her every move, I definitely have some good counters. I’m a lot stronger than her. A lot more powerful. I think I’ll be okay.”

SummerSlam 2023 hosted Rousey's final match with WWE - a defeat to long-time friend Baszler. Since then, Ronda has returned to wrestling via Lucha VaVaVoom, the Wrestling REVOLVER, and the Tony Khan-owned Ring of Honor. Rousey teamed with Marina Shafir to face Athena and Billie Starkz in AEW's sister promotion last month.

Jax is a relatively recent WWE returnee, having come back to the company in September 2023. November 2021 had seen her released by the market leaders, prompting a period of inactivity.
