Nick Aldis Wants Rusev In NWA

Could we see Rusev on NWA Powerrr in 2020?

The wrestler formerly known as Rusev is yet to make his first formal move since leaving WWE on 15 April, but NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis knows where he'd like to see the former United States Champion end up.

Speaking to POST Wrestling, Aldis said "you won't find a bigger Rusev fan than me," noting that he would "absolutely" like to see Rusev in the National Wrestling Alliance.

"I remember pretty much from the beginning, I would be like 'god, Rusev is money,'" Aldis said, claiming he'd text NWA Vice President Dave Lagana about the bruiser all the time. He added that while Rusev will probably be near the top of AEW's wishlist and isn't confident he'll be on the market for long, "if we could get him at the NWA, even for a short period run, it would be huge."

It's easy to see Rusev slotting into a slick, old-school atmosphere like NWA Powerrr's, though it's hard to imagine any major moves will be made until the global health crisis eases off a little.

WhatCulture's Andrew Pollard has an exclusive hour-long interview with Aldis going out later today. Stay tuned to our YouTube channel for that.
