Nick Gage made his AEW debut on last night's Fyter Fest special episode of Dynamite, setting up a no DQ match with Chris Jericho for next week's Fight for the Fallen show.

This is part of MJF's Five Labours of Jericho series. The Pinnacle leader has charged Jericho with overcoming a series of handpicked opponents in order to earn a singles match with him later down the line. Last night saw Jericho defeat the chair-swinging Shawn Spears in the first Labour, with Gage coming in as number two.

A furious MJF brought Gage out onto the stage after the bout, with the GCW World Heavyweight Champion scoring a big pop from the Dallas, Texas crowd.

Jericho responded to Gage's appearance later in the evening, revealing, in a backstage interview, that he is bringing back his old Painmaker persona for what is sure to be a wild hardcore match.

Best known for his work on the American deathmatch and independent scenes, Gage has experienced a spike in popularity in 2021. Much of this is down to his Dark Side of the Ring special, which aired in May, but also high-profile collisions with Jon Moxley and Matt Cardona in GCW.
