Nikki Bella Cleared For WrestleMania 33 Following Neck Injury
The minor herniation won't stop her from competing.
After a minor neck injury forced her to miss live events over the weekend, Nikki Bella has been given the all clear from Tampa General Hospital. Nikki was out of action from October 2015 to September 2016 recovering from a neck injury and subsequent surgery, and made her surprise return to action at SummerSlam last year.
According to comments made by 'The Fearless One' on the Bella Twins' YouTube channel, she suffered a minor neck injury last week, and underwent X-Rays on the previous two Wednesdays.
The good news is: Nikki has been cleared for WrestleMania (0:50 in the video below), and the injury is only a minor herniation above where she had surgery. Although lingering issues like this could put Bella's in-ring future in jeopardy, it's a relief for both Nikki and the fans that her mixed tag team match with john Cena, The Miz and Maryse will go ahead as planned, and that Nikki won't find herself replaced by Tyler Breeze in drag at the last minute.
If Nikki's injuries get worse, it could have a huge impact on the Smackdown women's division. Nikki is something of a veteran when compared to stars like Carmella and Alexa Bliss, and the loss of both Bella Twins (Brie retired in April last year) would likely see WWE pushing their female talent acquisition programs into overdrive.
