NJPW Star Pulls Out Of AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door
Another star pulled from tonight's huge crossover PPV.
With several major names having to miss tonight's huge AEW x NJPW Forbidden PPV already, Hiromu Takahashi has now been forced to pull out of the show.
Taking to Twitter, AEW confirmed that the four-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion has a fever and is unable to travel to the US.
Originally, Takahashi was due to team with Shingo Takagi, Darby Allin and Sting to take on the Young Bucks, El Phantasmo and Hikuleo. Instead of being an eight-man match, that bout will now instead be Shingo, Darby and Sting against the Bucks and El Phantasmo, with Hikuleo in the corner of the heels.
Hiromu Takahashi (@TIMEBOMB1105) has a fever and can’t travel to America to compete at Forbidden Door. The match will now be a trios match with #BulletClub (@youngbucks & @elpwrestling, with @Hiku_Leo in their corner) vs #DudesWithAttitudes (@Sting, @DarbyAllin & @Takagi__Shingo) pic.twitter.com/jFRUaofU3H

Takahashi joins a significant number of stars who won't be in action at Forbidden Door later today, with CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Kyle O'Reilly, Bobby Fish, Jungle Boy and Tomohiro Ishii amongst those dealing with injuries right now. Added to that, Jeff Hardy was suspended by AEW after his latest DUI arrest, and there's also the long absence of Kenny Omega.
Regardless of the talent who aren't able to compete at this crossover PPV, the Forbidden Door card is still looking pretty stacked as wrestling fans look forward to an event that will hopefully prove to be one of the standout shows of 2022 by the time all is said and done.
