Number 1 Contender's Match Set For WWE Raw

WWE have announced that a number 1 contender's match will take place on this Monday's episode of Raw to determine Asuka's opponent at the upcoming Backlash pay-per-view.

NXT Champion Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax, and Natalya will collide in a Triple Threat this Monday, with the winner going on to challenge for the Raw Women's Championship at the 14 June show.

Asuka was awarded the title on 11 April, shortly after Becky Lynch announced her pregnancy. The Irish star revealed that the briefcase Asuka won in the eponymous headliner of the previous night's Money in the Bank was in fact for the championship itself, and not just the usual contract.

A victory for Charlotte in Monday's three-way would give her a chance to double her gold - if she can retain the NXT strap against Io Shirai and Rhea Ripley at next weekend's NXT TakeOver: In Your House.

WWE also confirmed that champion Drew McIntyre will be a guest on MVP's VIP Lounge this Monday. The segment is likely to end in a stramash between McIntyre and MVP's pal Bobby Lashley, who is challenging for the belt at Backlash.
