With it previously reported that numerous Ring of Honor talent would become free agents when 2021 rolled to a close, there's an update on some of the names who now find themselves in this situation.

As per Fightful Select, it's confirmed that ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham, ROH Pure Champion Josh Woods, Silas Young, Rhett Titus, Shane Taylor, Mike Bennett, Beer City Bruiser, Brian Milonas and the very nice, very evil Danhausen are amongst those who are officially free agents.

In the case of Gresham, Fightful adds how he has actually been a free agent for a couple of weeks. The Octopus received papers to finalise the end of his contract the week after last month's Final Battle PPV - where Gresham defeated Jay Lethal to take home the original ROH World Title.

Gresham is said to still have a positive relationship with ROH, and he's able to defend the ROH World Championship by running any such matches past the ROH office. One such match, of course, will see Gresham face Josh Alexander at 16 January's Terminus event with the ROH World Title on the line.

Already, certain ROH stars have started to surface in other notable promotions. For example, Josh Woods recently competed on AEW Dark, ROH Tag Team Champions The Briscoe Brothers are on a collision course with FTR, ROH Women's Champion Rok-C was part of a recent WWE tryout, and the aforementioned Lethal has formally become #AllElite.

As for Ring of Honor itself, the company is now on hiatus until the second quarter of 2022.
