NWA Champion Teases AEW Move

Is this big NWA star set to following in Ricky Starks' footsteps?

NWA's Thunder Rosa has teased jumping to AEW to challenge Women's Champion Hikaru Shida after the Japanese star laid down the gauntlet on last night's Fight for the Fallen show.

A brief interview with Alex Marvez saw Shida open the door to potential challengers, defying anyone who has the strength and passion to step forward. This led to Rosa tweeting the following:-

This is an interesting proposition for several reasons. Rosa currently reigns as the NWA Women's Champion, though Billy Corgan's promotion is currently on ice following the global health crisis and Dave Lagana's resignation as an executive after being implicated in the #SpeakingOut movement. On top of this, the cash-strapped promotion is reportedly offering low-ball contract offers to existing talents, with Fightful noting that Television Champion Zicky Dice was offered $250/month to stick around. Knowing this, it's easy to see why Rosa might be swayed by AEW.

She'd be a great boon to a women's division that has improved considerably in 2020 but still needs solid, legitimate athletes to bolster its ranks. Thunder Rosa fits that bill perfectly. A standout performer since NWA Powerrr's inception, AEW could do a lot with her.
