Von Wagner and Cameron Grimes are amongst the NXT names mentioned as potential WWE main roster call-ups in recent times, reports Fightful Select.

The outlet has reported on Grimes potentially heading to Raw or SmackDown in the past. Although the former North American Champion is yet to make the jump, WWE staff reportedly see him as a "natural fit", having spent the best part of a decade working on television (predating his WWE signing). Additionally, Grimes is incredibly familiar with main roster producer Shane Helms.

Wagner, meanwhile, has also been pitched in the past. There is currently no word on when this might happen, though he was stated for a call-up for a brief period in 2021.

Fightful's sources expected a slower, steadier stream of talent between NXT and the main roster going forward, with the company seemingly cutting back on lengthier, years-long evaluation periods in developmental. That NXT talent now regularly work Main Event tapings allows WWE to gain a more accurate feel for how they might connect with main roster audiences, Fightful notes, rather than competing before the same few hundred people for NXT each week.

Talent, meanwhile, consider those Main Event looks "a reward."
