For those who have been watching WWE’s 205 Live show for the past several months, the cruiserweights have put on some phenomenal matches and become some of the most engaging characters in WWE.

Now, there’s word from PWInsider that the recent booking of 205 Live has actually been handled by Triple H and the NXT creative team.

Of course, Hunter has recently confirmed that the cruiserweight division would soon start to operate under the NXT brand – as shown by Lio Rush vs. Oney Lorcan on last week’s episode of NXT – and now it appears that the 205 Live talents are already under the creative direction of Triple H and the yellow and black brand.

In the aforementioned Rush vs. Lorcan match, the Man of the Hour was victorious over Oney in a fantastic match to decide the new #1 contender for Drew Gulak’s Cruiserweight Championship.

At this stage, it’s yet to be announced just when exactly Rush will challenge Gulak for the gold – although one would imagine that the match could take place on next week’s October 2nd NXT show. If you remember, next week’s NXT offering is the first time that the brand will air a full two-hour show on the USA Network, and also happens to be the night that AEW premieres its weekly Dynamite show on TNT.

This comes hot on the heels of WWE confirming that the regular 205 Live show will move to Friday nights as of next week, where it will air on the WWE Network once SmackDown Live finishes on FOX.

Once described as the Swiss Army Knife of WhatCulture, Andrew can usually be found writing, editing, or presenting on a wide range of topics. As a lifelong wrestling fan, horror obsessive, and comic book nerd, he's been covering those topics professionally as far back as 2010. In addition to his current WhatCulture role of Senior Content Producer, Andrew previously spent nearly a decade as Online Editor and Lead Writer for the world's longest-running genre publication, Starburst Magazine, and his work has also been featured on BBC, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, WhatToWatch, Sportkskeeda, and various other outlets, in addition to being a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic.
