NXT Diva "Blue Pants" Explains Her Role In WWE

Is she signed to a WWE deal?

The WWE NXT diva known as Blue Pants spoke to The Roman Show about her role in the company: €œI am something they never really have happened before, I€™m a free agent. I come and go. You really never know when I€™m going to pop up that€™s the kind of appeal of Blue Pants. She€™s the wacky next door neighbor. You really never know when she€™s going to show up.€ She wrestles on the indies as Leva Bates, but in WWE they only call her Blue Pants and likely want her to be known as that. For the most part, they only use her to put over other wrestlers although the crowd does like her a lot. During the interview, she also admitted that the Blue Pants character was "kind of an accident" because all she really did was have a match with Carmella wearing blue pants. Since NXT often times doesn't give names to unknown opponents, things took off from there and then they even had Colin Cassady sing her entrance to the tune of the Price is Right.

Earlier this month, there were reports that Blue Pants had a lot of heat on her because of what she was being paid by WWE. Since she's not under a WWE deal, she can sell her own merchandise and not have to split with the company while others in WWE have to do it that way. She also got to appear at the NXT Takeover Brooklyn special on August 22 when she helped The Vaudevillains win the Tag Team Titles. A gimmick like Blue Pants probably shouldn't work in today's wrestling business, but the NXT brand is so fun that they find a way to make it entertaining. Perhaps one day she'll sign a WWE deal, but for now she seems content in her role.
