It sounds like Lio Rush isn't best pleased about being left out of WWE's upcoming tournament to crown an interim NXT Cruiserweight Champion.

'The Man of the Hour' dropped a couple of notable tweets on Sunday, showing his displeasure:-

Considering some of the participants, his omission is surprising. The field features Jake Atlas, who has made but a solitary televised appearance as an enhancement talent so far, and fellow newcomer El Hijo del Fantasma, who hasn't even mounted his official debut. Also included is Drake Maverick, whose last singles match came in July 2019.

The field is completed by Kushida, Tony Nese, Isaiah 'Swerve' Scott, Akira Tozawa, and Gentleman Jack Gallagher.

Rush had a bumpy 2019. It looked like he was on his way out of WWE for a while, as reports of huge backstage heat within the promotion coincided with him removing all mentions of his employer from social media and putting them on blast in an interview with Fightful, though he returned to NXT in September. His Cruiserweight Championship run began with him defeating Drew Gulak on 9 October and dropping it to Angel Garza in an acclaimed match 63 days later.
