NXT TakeOver San Antonio: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best

1. NXT Title: Shinsuke Nakamura (c) Vs. Bobby Roode

Result: Roode kills Nakamura with the Glorious DDT to win the title (27:15).

Rating: The excitement for this one wasn't as pronounced as it should've been, but in pure wrestling terms it was a superb match, benefiting from Roode and Nakamura's excellent chemistry and some terrific storytelling, especially in the later stages with Nakamura's knee.

The reversals, the near-falls and the sheer brutality (especially those Glorious DDTs) added up to a hard-fought main event that easily could've gone either way and sent the fans home happy.

No doubt some were bummed that Nakamura's nagging knee injury makes it less likely he'll turn up at the Royal Rumble, but never say never. This is Roode's time to shine and prove himself to be the headliner he so clearly can be. 8/10
