Mercedes Martinez could be on the verge of becoming the next WWE NXT wrestler to make the jump to what would traditionally be classified as the main roster.

This is according to a new report from WrestlingNews.co's Paul Davis, who notes that Martinez's loss to Rhea Ripley on last night's Super Tuesday show may be a sign that she is on her way to Raw or SmackDown. Davis notes the announcers' tone, as they made a point of noting that the result marked the end of Ripley's long-running extended feud with The Robert Stone Brand, which Martinez was part of.

Stone confirmed that his brand and Mercedes had parted ways after last night's steel cage bout, stating that he wanted to take his group in a new direction.

Martinez has only been with WWE since January 2020. Though she had previously wrestled for the promotion as part of both Mae Young Classic tournaments and is widely considered one of her generation's finest wrestlers, it took the promotion a while to snap her up, with the former Shimmer Champion not becoming a regular televised fixture until a few months ago.
