Danny Burch suffered a separated shoulder while competing in this week's WWE NXT main event.

In a match booked during the show's opening segment, Burch and partner Oney Lorcan put their NXT Tag Team Championships on the line against Karrion Kross and Finn Balor. Burch took what looked like a nasty landing when Kross reversed a suplex on him and Lorcan, landing on his shoulder, with medics tending to him at ringside in the aftermath.

This left Lorcan to fight the rest of the match alone. He ended up winning after Kross turned on Balor, destroying the NXT Champion to facilitate the outcome.

Dave Meltzer wrote in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there's currently no word on what WWE will do with the NXT Tag Team Championships, which Lorcan and Burch have held since October 2020.

A separated shoulder typically comes with a recovery time of between two and 12 weeks depending on the severity. Burch is yet to comment on the matter and WWE haven't released an update on his status, making it impossible to determine how long the 39-year-old will be out for.

All the best to Burch in his recovery.
