Omega vs Okada 4 Confirmed For Dominion
Another chapter will be added to the legendary Okada/Omega trilogy on June 9th!
Following Kazuchika Okada's retention of the IWGP Heavyweight Championship over Hiroshi Tanahashi at today's Wrestling Dontaku show, an all too familiar foe challenged Okada to a championship match at June 9th's Dominion show.
Kenny Omega ventured down to ringside to The Rainmaker, but this time there will be some stipulations. The fourth match between the two will be two out of three falls with no time limit. Throughout the first three matches, Okada's won once, Omega's one once, and there's been a 60 minute time limit draw. Their first two bouts were critically acclaimed as they earned the first six star, and six and a quarter star ratings respectively from The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer.
Kazuchika Okada has been the Heavyweight Champion since 11 June 2016, where he defeated Tetsuya Naito at Dominion 2016 to start his fourth reign with the title. He's broken two historic records during this reign, having the longest reign at just under 700 days, and now having the most successful defences in a single reign with 12.
This concluded a noteworthy event that also saw Chris Jericho return to further attack Tetsuya Naito, and Taiji Ishimori being unveiled as the new incarnation of Bone Soldier. Taiji was then established as the next challenger for Will Ospreay's IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.
