The Wrestling Observer has revealed what Angel Garza was originally booked to do in the 2021 Royal Rumble before WWE pulled him from the match.

The Main Event regular was going to enter as #20, but was replaced late on by Otis; no offence to Garza, but it shows how far ex-'Mr. Money In The Bank' Otis has fallen that he wasn't even in the 30-man brawl until WWE made the call to change plans last minute.

According to Dave Meltzer, Angel would've worked one short comedy spot in the bout before being tossed over the top rope. He was scheduled to tear off his fancy trousers then get immediately eliminated.

WWE apparently felt Otis being the 'caterpillar' then getting chucked out by 'King' Corbin was a better use of those 53 seconds in the Rumble. On that, there's no word from Dave about whether or not Corbin would've eliminated Garza too.

Probably not, because they're both heels. Who knows though, and fans didn't get to find out - WWE whipped Angel out of the match and replaced him. His immediate future remains a complete mystery.
