There's zero animosity or bad blood between WWE's Vince McMahon and AEW's Paul Wight.

New AEW signing Paul Wight has told Fightful that Vince McMahon was one of the first to congratulate him once news broke that he'd joined the company.

The WWE boss even thanked Wight for his years of service as Big Show, and wished him well with the rest of his career.

Paul described his WWE departure as "a mutual dissolution of services", and said there's "no anger" between he and McMahon. In fact, as their phone conversation proves, Vince and Wight are on good terms and both looking forward to what's coming in the future.

Joining AEW was a total "leap of faith" from the giant that his years of work elsewhere would carry weight outside the WWE bubble. He wasn't 100% sure if Tony Khan would be interested in signing him to a full-time contract, or if wrestling fans would accept him as anything other than the McMahon-created Big Show.

It's heartening to know that Vince was positive about his old friend's choices. He wasn't going to stand in the way of Wight's desire to spread his wings and see what else he could achieve.
