For long-time IMPACT Wrestling fans, there’s the absolutely brilliant news that former X Division Champion Petey Williams made his return to action at last night’s Hardcore Justice PPV.

Williams turned up as the surprise partner of Josh Alexander, as the Walking Weapon took on the tandems of TJP & Fallah Bahh and Madman Fulton and current X Division Champ Ace Austin.

Going into Hardcore Justice, Alexander, TJP and Austin had to find a partner of their choosing for this triple threat tag bout – and for Josh Alexander, he chose X Division royalty in the form of the beloved Petey Williams.

This proved to be quite the inspired choice for Alexander, with he and Williams picking up the win at Hardcore Justice.

The Canadian Destroyer made his IMPACT debut – well, TNA debut – back in 2004 as part of Team Canada. Williams would win the X Division Championship twice during his run with the company, and he’d initially retire in 2014 before once more lacing up his boots in 2017.

Petey last competed for IMPACT early last year. And as for that Canadian Destroyer nickname? That’s because Petey Williams is the person who created what is now one of the most popular (and likely overused) moves in all of professional wrestling.

It's not known yet whether Williams' return was a one-off or something more, but we're likely to get the answer to that question on IMPACT Wrestling this Thursday.
