Piper Niven Makes Debut On WWE Raw - Aligns With Eva Marie
NXT UK's Piper Niven debuted on Raw, but WWE might give her a new ring name.
Former NXT UK star Piper Niven made her Raw debut on Monday night.
WWE decided to align Niven with the re-debuting Eva Marie. Piper replaced Eva in a scheduled match against Naomi, quickly dispatched the former Women's Champ and then hugged Marie at ringside - meanwhile, Eva looked hesitant to return the love.
It's interesting to note that Raw's announcers were very careful not to name Niven throughout the segment. That could mean she's about to get a new moniker, or that WWE just didn't think it was important enough. Marie is the clear star of the duo, after all.
This booking also continued Eva's old gimmick.
Fans may recall the laundry list of excuses for getting out of actually wrestling she used before leaving the company in 2017. It looks like that idea is back, but WWE has now added another wrinkle with Piper.
The alliance could be temporary (plans change weekly), or Niven and Marie could be given a stab at the Women's Tag-Team Titles going forwards. Who knows. For now, it's cool to see Piper bag a win on the flagship show.
