Popular Presenter Released By WWE

WWE quietly released this hugely popular presenter last week.

Matt Camp
WWE

Somewhat surprisingly, WWE has released host/presenter/broadcaster Matt Camp.

Having joined WWE back in 2019, Camp had been a key part of shows such as The Bump, Raw Talk, Talking Smack, and the various PLE kickoff shows. Prior to that, the New Jersey native served as the lead announcer for Tommy Dreamer's House of Hardcore promotion, and he also did work for Busted Open and Bleacher Report as a fantasy football expert.

Per PWInsider, this release came as "something of a shock" to the WWE sources the outlet reached out to. No particular reason has been given for this exit, and WWE has yet to make any public or internal comments on the matter. Fightful also adds that Camp's release actually happened last week.

During his time with WWE, Matt Camp was present on every single episode of The Bump since that show launched. That is, until last week, when he was absent from that digital show for the very first time.

Whatever's next for Matt remains to be seen, but there's surely going to be be a whole host of suitors - both in the wrestling business and out - with interest in the hugely talented fella.

Once described as the Swiss Army Knife of WhatCulture, Andrew can usually be found writing, editing, or presenting on a wide range of topics. As a lifelong wrestling fan, horror obsessive, and comic book nerd, he's been covering those topics professionally as far back as 2010. In addition to his current WhatCulture role of Senior Content Producer, Andrew previously spent nearly a decade as Online Editor and Lead Writer for the world's longest-running genre publication, Starburst Magazine, and his work has also been featured on BBC, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, WhatToWatch, Sportkskeeda, and various other outlets, in addition to being a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic.
