Fightful Select broke the news that popular WWE midcarder R-Truth was almost forced to retire from the ring for good back in 2022.

Truth, who has been hanging around as a quasi-member of Judgment Day since returning to screens around Survivor Series: WarGames last November, suffered a torn quad injury in 2022 that very nearly ended his career. The injury turned into a nasty knee infection that caused him significant trouble.

At one point, Truth struggled to even bend his knee for approx three months. Obviously, given the nature of his physical condition, the comedy man was faced with the looming prospect of permanent retirement. Thankfully though, Truth gritted his teeth and showed incredible determination to launch a comeback.

Good on him.

During the interview with Fightful, the in-ring veteran said he had to really back himself to rehab his injuries first and foremost. They were complicated, but he managed to overcome everything and return to screens. Anyone who has watched his fun banter alongside JD members like Damian Priest and JD McDonagh will be glad of that.

A string of health issues almost forced Truth out of the ring forever.
