Beloved pro wrestling announcer and all-round industry legend Jim Ross has been battling some serious health issues recently. The AEW man went under the knife for surgery on his hip to treat cancer this past Thursday, but quickly updated fans on Twitter/X by saying "all went well".

That's a relief.

JR also thanked people for their outpouring of support as he fights the horrible disease. Countless wrestling stars chimed in underneath Jim's post to show more love - names included Rob Van Dam, Konnan, and even ex-AEW alumni Joey Janela.

Fans flooded in as well, and everyone here at WhatCulture wishes Ross the very best in his recovery from surgery and for his health in general. The pro wrestling business is better with JR in it, it's really as simple as that.

Jim also revealed a while ago that his current deal with AEW expires on 14 February. He's made no secret on his weekly podcast that he'd like to ink an extension with Tony Khan's company and call Sting's final match at Revolution alongside old pal Tony Schiavone.

AEW Revolution 2024 happens on 3 March.
