Predicting The Next 10 WWE Champions

7. John Cena (WrestleMania 34)

While we already know that Roman Reigns will likely challenge for Brock Lesnar’s Universal Title at WrestleMania 34, the SmackDown side remains unclear. There has been no indication of where the belt will head beyond the summer months, but John Cena’s coronation as a 17-time world champion feels like an inevitability, and such a huge, historical moment demands the biggest stage in the business.

Cena’s ever-shrinking army of critics would gag at the prospect of him breaking the record at ‘Mania, but it’d be a waste to book the occasion on a smaller pay-per-view. Love him or hate him, Cena has anchored the company’s main event scene for over a decade, and while his career might be on the downswing, WWE will likely want to make his last big moment as grandiose as possible.

One potential problem here is that Reigns is likely to unseat Lesnar on the same night, so WWE would have to book two very similar coronations within an hour or so of each other, assuming Roman stays babyface.

The significance of Cena surpassing Ric Flair at ‘Mania should be enough to negate that complaint, however.
