PWI's rankings struggle for relevance at the best of times these days, though their recently published list of the industry's top 100 female performers was less legitimate than usual after it accidentally omitted Kairi Sane.

Publisher Stu Saks Tweeted an apology following the blunder, stating they were "not sure how this happened" and that Sane was originally slated to be in the number 16 spot:

Traditionally, PWI's annual lists are judged through a combination of kayfabe and reality. By either metric, SmackDown Women's Tag Team champion Sane would be an automatic shoe-in for one of the top spots.

Unsurprisingly, Becky Lynch - who won both of WWE's women's championships when she headlined WrestleMania earlier this year - topped the rankings, displacing Ronda Rousey, who dropped down to third. Charlotte Flair and NXT Women's Champion Shayna Baszler took 2nd and 4th places respectively, whilst Impact's top star Tessa Blanchard rounded out the top five.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
