Randy Orton RKOs Beth Phoenix On WWE Raw
Orton vs. Edge took a grim, grim turn on last night's show.
Beth Phoenix walked into last night's WWE Raw to provide a medical update on her husband, Edge, after Randy Orton's brutal assault on 'The Rated R Superstar' back in January, eating a shocking RKO for her troubles.
News that Phoenix was set to appear on last night's show generated immediate speculation on what horrible thing 'The Viper' would do to 'The Glamazon.' We got the answer at the end of their segment, with Phoenix slapping Orton when he claimed to love Edge and the Copeland family's kids more than she ever could, then tasting Randy's signature move.
Thus closed another tremendous segment in this rivalry, with Phoenix and Orton pulling on the heartstrings throughout. Randy blamed Beth for enabling Edge's comeback, claiming he was scared somebody would put his old tag team partner in a wheelchair, while Phoenix was reduced to tears as Orton ripped into her for not stepping in and stopping his self-destructive comeback. Brilliant stuff, and Orton's recent hot streak continues.
Local advertisements in Washington DC have Edge appearing on next week's episode of Raw - 9 March. Given what Orton has done to Phoenix, Matt Hardy, and Edge himself, this should be hotter than the surface of the sun.
