Ranking All 9 Former ROH World Champions Who Came To WWE
3. Tyler Black (Seth Rollins)
Back when NXT still carried a competition format, it was unknown whether Seth Rollins would ever be called up from developmental to take part in the show along with his fellow Ring of Honor graduates Bryan Danielson and Low Ki.
But his absence from the early incarnation of NXT might have been for the better, as it allowed him to become a centerpiece of the brand once it evolved into what it is today. Almost immediately, he became the inaugural NXT champion, and it wasn't long after that he was called up to the main roster at the end of 2012 as one-third of The Shield.
The trio dominated the WWE landscape for nearly two years before branching off into singles competition, and once Rollins was on his own again, he exceeded all expectations as a heel and won the Money in the Bank briefcase. During his time on top, he scored several victories over the likes of Roman Reigns, John Cena, Dean Ambrose, Randy Orton, and Sting, capturing the WWE Championship on two separate occasions (including once in the main event of WrestleMania 31).
Now, Rollins is on the verge of fulfilling his full potential as a top babyface on Raw, and he has more years ahead of him than he does behind him. The artist formerly known as Tyler Black cut his teeth in ROH for many years, and his lengthy reign as ROH World champion in 2010 was merely a sneak peek of what he would later achieve in WWE.
