SummerSlam was one of the most disappointing pay-per-views of the year and the worst-ranked of the big four in WWE.
There were outstanding matches with amazing storytelling offset with disappointing results and in-ring returns. Becky Lynch returning got a good reaction from the crowd in attendance but left a sour taste in many fans' mouths. On the other hand, the return of Brock Lesner looking leaner and meaner than before was not to the sound of boos, but cheers and true heroes welcome as he squared up to Roman Reigns.
The matches between Alexa Bliss and Eva Marie, and Bianca Belair, and a returning Becky Lynch were beyond disappointing while the opening tag match of RK-Bro and Omos and Styles wasn't any better. Edge Vs. Seth Rollins was the match of the night while the triple threat match between Charlotte Flair, Rhea Ripley, and Nikki A.S.H. was another highlight on a show that should have been the party of the summer.
