Our second four-way match on this list, but easily the better of the two. In fact, this may be one of the best Fatal 4-ways I’ve ever seen on WWE programming.

First off, there was a ton of backstory to this one. WWE Champion John Cena and Shawn Michaels were in the midst of their epic rivalry that had recently included their near-60-minute match on Monday Night Raw, while Randy Orton and Edge were going through the messy break-up of their Rated-RKO tag team. Plus, they’d all met in tag action just a few months before, but this every-an-for-himself match would prove to be even better.

Understandably we saw various alliances come and go throughout the match, such as Edge and Orton simultaneously locking in single-leg crabs on an unlucky Michaels, plus Orton giving Edge a thumbs up before promptly being smashed in the head with a chair.

For me it was the finish that stole the show though. A flurry of reversals and finishing moves led to Michaels hitting Cena with Sweet Chin Music, causing him to fall on a prone Orton and unknowingly pick up the 1-2-3, with Michaels not realising until it was too late.

For the plentiful sub-plots and that brilliantly-orchestrated finish, this was so much more than your usual Fatal 4-way.
