MMC Asuka The Miz

The biggest challenge WWE face with their second Mixed Match Challenge is keeping fans hooked week-to-week. They didn't manage that (en masse, anyway) in the first season, and numbers seemed to drop with each passing episode before The Miz and Asuka teamed up to beat Bobby Roode and Charlotte Flair in the final 12 weeks in.

Since then, the mixed-gender tag tourney hasn't been mentioned on TV. It's like the thing didn't even happen.

That's another issue WWE are going to have to solve for MMC 2. If another passes by without affecting anything else on Raw or SmackDown, then the vast majority of fans will skip it after a few episodes. The only thing that might keep them coming back are some of the new and improved teams that have been announced.

All ten tandems have been revealed before the latest Mixed Match Challenge kicks off on 18 September, and this article ranks them from least interesting to most exciting. This year, there's no charity prize pot, teams will work a round robin format and the final will take place on pay-per-view at TLC in December.

Is all that, along with some new teams, enough to save MMC? You be the judge...
