Unless you've been living under a rock (no, not the one with the funky eyebrow) for the last week or so, it likely came to your attention that WWE were set to "Go Back" to the old days on this week's episode of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX. Then those in charge decided "Throwback" sounded better and ran with that instead.

Either way, things were about to get very retro in an attempt to give the blue show a little shot in the arm coming into the healthy dose of déjà vu that is WrestleMania Backlash.

With the thought of the company dusting off some of the Friday night delight's greatest and most recognisable visuals/moments for this one-off special, naturally, fans began to fantasy book precisely which iconic pieces of the show's history would be making a comeback. Everything from big silver fists to a Great One cookin' up a storm on his brand were dreamed up, but were WWE on the same wave length as those tuning in for the good stuff last night? Sort of.

From rather peculiar choices of themes, to unexpected returns of faces synonymous with the beloved blue programme, "Throwback" SmackDown certainly delivered on its concept, but just how well did each nod to the past land on the night?
