Unquestionably the most surprising contest in the history of The Streak in terms of overall match quality, The Undertaker's classic with Batista at WrestleMania 23 caught just about everyone off-guard.

A hard-hitting affair, the viciousness was everything you'd expect from two huge brutes doing battle for the World Heavyweight Championship, but the thing that really stood out was their impressive in-ring chemistry as they ended up working a great match that utilised some brilliant physical storytelling to make us all think that The Streak was genuinely in jeopardy.

It wasn't, and 'Taker went 15-0 while claiming the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career, but the absolute barn-burner that these two men delivered had the 80,000-plus in Ford Field on the edges of their seats for its respectable 15-minute run-time.

Rumour has it that both men were very unhappy that they didn't get the main event slot - and rightly so - so they went out there and proved exactly why they deserved it. And to make things even better, it wasn't just lightning in a bottle as they produced four cracking rematches throughout the remainder of what may have just been the best year of The Undertaker's in-ring career.

And that, folks, is how 'The Deadman's mid-career renaissance began...
